Filtex began manufacturing central vacuums in the early 1960's in Los Angeles. The
company was sold a few times and acquired other surnames such as VSI and Natter.
The company was sold in the late 1980's to Music and Sound (aka M & S) which was
then sold to Chamberlain Industries in the late 1990's and recently to Linear in 2005.
They are now making Filtex. Their vacuum inlets, usually metal, say Filtex but it looks a
bit like Fietex, Filtrex, Filtrec, Siltrex, or Siltex. All of the products and parts above are
compatible with your Filtex Central Vacuum System.
